Low Performing Schools
Our lawgiver has set minimum educational study results for both primary and secondary education. The Dutch Educational Inspection guards the realization of these results. If a school does not conform to these average requirements for three years in a row, they are labelled a “(very) low performing school”. When labelled as such, the school management is given a period of two years to improve its results. In 2012, the “recovery time” until full closure is diminished to a period of one year. In many schools there is a lack of “data driven teaching”.
CBE is, by means of a taskforce that is set up by the sector organisation for secondary education (VO-raad), closely involved in the structured approach of (very) low performing schools. One of our highly experienced consultants coordinates the Taskforce’s activities. CBE also advises low performing schools on Bonaire, Saba and Statia (the Dutch Carribean). CBE analyses schools in which educational results stay behind en carries out process orchestration and interim management on (very) low performing schools.
